18 Elite to play in USAV Nationals in Anaheim
Vision’s 18 Elite team will end their club tournament season April 27th-29th in Anaheim, CA. This is USA Volleyball National Championships. We have made this decision in the best interest of the players that will go on to compete in college. According to the latest article in Volleymag.com, (copy and paste URL) https://volleyballmag.com/injuries-081917/ several top coaches voiced their concern regarding players not being healthy when reporting to campus. In the article, top college coaches agreed playing a long season on a one-inch piece of plastic over concrete, beats up the body. The body eventually breaks down. These athletes report to campus a couple of weeks after AAU’s and can’t participate in summer workouts due to nagging injuries. Vision’s primary concern, and quite frankly our responsibility, is to prepare the athletes for college. That includes making sure our 18’s are healthy enough to compete when reporting to campus. Even though the club tournaments end April 29th, players have the option to continue to train, rest and heal any nagging injuries, or transition to our beach tournament training. The athletes can also enjoy Graduation, Open Houses, Proms, and other activities their final month as a senior in high school. Some girls even elect to take a summer class to get on their college campus early. If training at a very high level, challenge for Nationals, and prepare for college workouts, consider joining Vision in 2018.
